Why Your Lightroom Mobile Presets Look Different
Are Your Lightroom Mobile Presets Not Matching the Preview?
If you’ve ever copied a mobile preset onto your photo and thought,
“Why doesn’t my photo look like the example?”
You’re not alone—and the answer lies in how white balance works in Lightroom Mobile.
Understanding how presets interact with JPEGs vs RAW files can make or break your editing workflow. Let’s break it down.

Why We Include Two Lightroom Mobile Preset Packs
At Embrace Presets, we want you to have everything you need to recreate the full look. That’s why our mobile preset collections include:
Regular DNG Pack (for JPEG Users)
- Created with simplicity in mind
- Best for phone photos and quick social edits
- ⚠️ White balance settings may not apply correctly due to JPEG limitations
Pro DNG Pack (Created from RAW Files)
- Contains custom white balance + tonal settings
- Best when copying settings onto RAW images in Lightroom Mobile
- Delivers the true intended look—exact tones, white balance, and light

Why White Balance Doesn’t Transfer on JPEGs
When you copy settings from a Pro DNG to a JPEG in Lightroom Mobile, it might say “Custom WB”… but here’s the catch:
JPEGs don’t respond the same way to WB changes.
Lightroom Mobile applies the WB number, but the visual result will look different.
This is why presets can look cooler or warmer than expected when you’re using JPEGs.
Quick Fix: Manually Adjust White Balance in Lightroom Mobile
If you’re editing a JPEG and want to correct the tone manually:
- Open your image in Lightroom Mobile
- Tap Edit → Light → Temperature
- Slide the Temp slider to the right to warm up your image
- Or slide left to cool it down
This little trick can make your image look much closer to the preset preview—even on JPEG files!
